How to connect Windsor.ai (Google Ads, Facebook, Bing, Google Analytics, DoubleClick, …) to Microsoft Excel

Post by niklaskolster »

The Windsor.ai platform supports API calls to retrieve and send information. In this article, we explain how to extract data and visualise it in Microsoft Excel.

The prerequisites are:
  • Windsor.ai account
  • Windsor.ai API key
  • Microsoft Excel (Important: This feature is only available on Excel on Windows)
  1. Create a new Excel Spreadsheet
  2. Head to the Data tab and click on From Web

  3. In the URL box enter your API query. Here is an example query:

    Code: Select all

    https://api.windsor.ai/pied_piper_llc/pied_piper_llc_attribution/public/pied_piper_llc_attributions_and_costs?_renderer=json&_page=2&_page_size=10&api_key=abcd&_select=date,source,medium,campaign,sum:totalcost&_groupby=date,source,medium,campaign&_order=-date
    The highlighted fields:
pied_piper_llc should be replaced with your username
abcd should be replaced with your API key
date,source,medium,campaign,sum:markov,sum:last_touch,sum:totalcost should be replaced with the columns and metrics which you would like to query.
The API documentation can be found here and the available fields can be found in the table definitions here.
  4. Click on To Table

  5. Select None when being prompted to select the delimiter

  6. Click on the button with the two arrows to expand the table to show the records

  7. Click on Close & Load

  8. Now you will have your data appearing in a table.

If you would like to build another query to get different dimensions and metrics into Excel please have a look at our API documentation, which can be found here, and our table definitions, which can be found here.
